Following the evidence trail.

Each area of work begins in the same place: with pupils. The evidence trail moves outward from there — through classroom practice, curriculum design and leadership — to build an honest, well-grounded picture of where a school is and what it needs to develop next. The approach is consistent across every context.

Curriculum Diagnostic

Beyond the Scheme™

Beyond the Scheme™ is a diagnostic that follows the evidence through pupils' learning. Rather than beginning with planning documents, it begins with pupils — exploring what they genuinely know, remember and are able to apply.

Through structured pupil conversations, curriculum evidence and first-hand observation, the process examines how intent translates into secure understanding and meaningful application. The findings provide a clear basis for the next stage of curriculum development. Beyond the Scheme™ is currently being piloted across a range of schools.

Whole-School Improvement

School Reviews

School reviews follow the evidence trail through leadership, teaching, curriculum and pupil outcomes. The process is thorough and evaluative, drawing on direct observation, professional dialogue and careful analysis of what pupils' experiences reveal about the quality of provision.

The outcome is an honest, well-evidenced account of the school's genuine strengths and the areas that would benefit from further development — one that strengthens self-evaluation and sharpens the focus of development planning.

Leadership Development

Leadership Evaluation

Leadership evaluation examines impact at all levels — from headteachers and senior teams to middle and subject leaders. The process is reflective rather than judgmental, grounded in evidence rather than perception.

Professional dialogue often reveals a gap between how leadership is experienced and how it is intended. The evaluation provides those in leadership roles with a clearer, more accurate understanding of their own practice and its effect on the school — and a firmer basis for the next stage of development.

Inclusion & Adaptive Teaching

Attendance & Inclusion

This work is grounded in years of experience across both mainstream and specialist settings. Genuine inclusion is not a policy position — it is a set of daily decisions about how teaching is designed, how needs are understood and how every pupil gains access to an ambitious curriculum.

The process examines what effective adaptation looks like in practice: how it is planned, how it is taught and how its impact can be evaluated honestly. Approached this way, inclusion is not a bolt-on. It is central to the quality of teaching and the integrity of the curriculum.

Special & Specialist Settings

Specialist School Consultancy

Work with specialist and special school settings draws on direct, sustained experience of these environments. The pressures, priorities and possibilities of specialist schools are distinct, and the consultancy approach is shaped accordingly.

The same commitment to following the evidence trail applies here as in any other setting — curriculum design and sequencing, self-evaluation, development planning and the evaluation of leadership, all considered in the context of what high-quality education looks like for pupils with complex and specialist needs.
